Sugar, Honey, Agave, Maple Syrup — Which is healthiest?!

Maple Syrup

Mainly produced in Canada, maple syrup is extracted from sap of the maple tree. This breakfast staple delicately accompanies our pancakes and waffles, and replaces white sugar without difficulty. Maple syrup contains trace amounts of antioxidants and minerals like calcium, zinc, riboflavin and magnesium, but the key here is "trace amounts" — less than 1% of daily value. On the bright side, it contains fewer calories than a single serving of white sugar or honey, and packs in way more flavor!
