The cheese platter

It's best to serve your cheeses on a natural substance such as a wooden tray or a slab of marble or slate. For practicality, place the varieties which crumble easily in the center and the harder ones around the edges. Never serve cheese directly from the fridge—cold cheese hardly has any flavor. Allow it to warm to room temperature first but don't unwrap it until ready to serve.
