How to make a long coffee

If you tend to order a long coffee (or 'lungos'), then you know that it's basically an espresso that is diluted with very hot water. This way the natural cream present on the espresso is conserved, while the flavor and caffeine content are 'lengthened' by the water. If you want to make a long coffee at home, it's better to make filter coffee rather than attempting to dilute an espresso on your own - you're likely to end up with a very bitter coffee if you do it yourself!
