Fudge it up: How to prepare scrumptious homemade fudge

For about 20 fudge pieces

  • 3 1/2 ounces milk chocolate for baking
  • 5/8 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup light cream
  • 7 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1/3 tablespoon semi-salted butter
Corn syrup is a key ingredient in this recipe, as it won't crystallize, which makes it an effective sweetener for the fudge. This allows for a nice soft texture that's easy to chew, as opposed to more rigid caramels that get stuck in your teeth.
