"Hit the spot" cheesy bacon dog

This hot dog is loaded with cheese sauce, onions and crumbled bits of bacon, nestled into a super fluffy bun to soak it all up.

To make, crisp up 6 finely chopped bacon strips in a skillet and set aside. For the cheese sauce, melt 1/2 stick unsalted butter in a saucepan on medium. Add 2 tablespoons flour and stir to make a roux. Cook 1 to 2 minutes, and whisk in 1 1/4 cups milk little by little. Add 1 1/2 to 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese, 1 teaspoon mustard powder, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt and a few dashes of hot sauce (optional). Stir until cheese is melted and ingredients are combined. Reduce heat to low, to keep the cheese sauce warm until ready to use. Cook 6 hot dogs according to package directions. Now you're ready to assemble. Place hot dogs in warmed buns, top with cheese sauce, finely chopped onions, bacon bits and a sprinkling of chopped parsley to garnish.
