Easy bacon 'n' sprouts

This recipe is short and sweet! Start by frying 5 slices thick-cut bacon, chopped into small pieces, on medium heat until brown and crispy. Drain the bacon on a paper towel-lined plate. Slice 1 pound trimmed fresh Brussels sprouts in half lengthwise. Cook the sprouts in a buttered skillet for 4 to 5 minutes until they start caramelizing. Stir in 1/2 cup chicken broth, 1/4 cup maple syrup, and 1/4 teaspoon each of salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 5 minutes. Uncover and cook for 10 minutes more, stirring regularly, until sprouts are tender. Top with the cooked bacon bits, and serve immediately.
