Homemade granola bars

This quick recipe is super simple to make and a better option than processed varieties.

Combine oatmeal, dried fruits, seeds and nuts in a bowl. Pour in 1 tablespoon canola oil and 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup. Mix well to combine, and spread the preparation onto a nonstick baking sheet, flattening it down to an even thickness.

Bake in the oven for 15 to 20 minutes at 350-400 °F. Your kids will be set for the week, and you can make a big enough batch for the whole family!

Did you know you can toast sweet potato slices... and it's absolutely delicious!

Method

  1. Slice an avocado in half.
  2. In a bowl, combine avocado with half an onion (diced) and coriander. 
  3. Add the juice from half a lemon and some salt, and mix.
  4. Cut a sweet potato into 1/2 inch slices.
  5. Place in a toaster, making sure to toast both sides. 
  6. Spread the avocado mix onto the toast. Enjoy!
