Salmon gratin

To prepare a fresh salmon gratin, start by layering potatoes or cooked pasta with cooked, flaked salmon in a baking dish. Stir in cooked asparagus and liquid cream, then sprinkle with chopped chives and a nice layer of your favorite cheese. If using potatoes, bake for 1 to 1 1/2 hours at 400 °F until cooked through. Tent with tin foil to avoid burning the cheese, if necessary. If using pasta, reduce the cooking time to 25 minutes.
