Drink tap water (if possible)

Obviously there are certain countries where drinking tap water is a major no-no. But if you're staying in parts of North America or Europe, most of the water is safe to drink.

Drinking tap water instead of bottled water will save you at least 5 dollars a day. Not to mention it's better for the planet because you're creating less plastic waste.

Bear in mind the same rule applies to restaurants; ask for a pitcher of water instead of a fancy bottle and you can cut 5-10 dollars straight off the bill.
