RECIPE: Sandwich Bread Empanadas


These sandwich bread empanadas are so easy and super delicious! Eat as a snack or serve as an appetizer. Perfect when you have a lot of guests!

  • White sandwich bread (no crust)
  • Egg yolks
  • Shredded  cheese


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. In a frying pan, sauté chopped onion and red pepper
  3. Add ground meat to pan and season with salt, pepper, herbes de Provence, and Paprika
  4. Let cook, stirring occasionally
  5. Add tomato sauce and olives
  6. Lay sandwich bread on table and flatten with a rolling pin
  7. Add filling then fold in half diagonally
  8. Seal edges and press along the sides with a fork
  9. Lay on baking pan and brush the tops with egg yolks
  10. Sprinkle with shredded cheese
  11. Put in oven and let bake for 20 minutes
  12. Serve!

  • Ground meat
  • Coriander, chopped
  • Onions, minced
  • Egg
  • Salt
  • Ground Pepper
  • Cheddar (cube and slice)
  • Canola Oil


Chop coriander and mince onions

Mix the meat, coriander, onions, pepper and salt in a large bowl

With your hands, shape the meat into a large ball

On a clean surface, flatten the ball and place a cube of cheddar on top

Cover the cheese with the edges of the meat, creating a ball again

Place in a pan and let one side simmer in canola oil

Flip the patty and place a slice of cheddar on top

Place the lid on the pan and let cook to desired texture

Put the patty in a bun with your favorite toppings. Enjoy!
