Apple flower tartlet

These little tartlets are a beautiful, decorative and simple way to use up your apple bounty. Quarter 1 red apple, then cut into thin slices using a mandolin slicer. Cook for 2 minutes in a saucepan with a bit of lemon juice. Drain and let cool. Cut strips of puff pastry 1 1/2 cm wide and 15 cm long. Place 5 apple slices onto the end of 1 strip of puff pastry in an overlapping manner. Roll up, sprinkle with sugar, then place into a mini tartlet mold, and repeat with the remaining apple slices. Bake for 25 minutes at 350 °F.
