20 easy meals under 300 calories
When you’re watching your weight and trying to get (or stay!) in shape, it’s not always easy to know what you can or can’t eat. But a surprising number of meals can be adapted to help lower your calorie intake. A potato, for example, isn’t forbidden when you’re on a diet. What matters is what you do with it. Fries are a definite no-no, as is covering a potato with bacon, sour cream and cheese sauce. The same applies to a salad; with a mayo-based dressing a salad can become a calorie bomb. But with a drizzle of olive oil or a low-fat yogurt dressing, it’s a light and healthy meal.
Portion control is also important. If you eat double the amount of a 300-calorie meal, well, then it’s going to be way more than double the calories!
So here are some delicious meal ideas that are easy to make and boast 300 calories or less!
Cut a salmon steak into thick slices. Marinate in a mixture of lemon juice, olive oil, grated ginger, grated garlic and freshly chopped cilantro for 1 hour. Serve on top of whole-grain bread.
